Pots and Pans

There are many options for pots and pans out there.

Titanium

Best strength to weight ratio, but also the most expensive.  Amazon has a couple that are a really pretty inexpensive and work great.

Solo kit: TOAKS titanium 750ml pot – Amazon for $35 3.9 oz for pot and lid.  This is my solo pot and I love it!  Very light, and very strong.  I replace the factory lid with a homemade pie pan lid and shave off another oz.

2 person kit: TOAKS titanium 1600ml pot with a fry pan – Amazon for $50  8.2 oz for both pot and lid.  This is a great pot for two people.  Plenty big for two people.  I usually leave the lid at home and use a DIY pie pan lid, for a couple oz save, but if I know that I am going to make a fruit cobbler, then sometimes I bring it to cook that while dinner is in the cozy.

Aluminum

Still very light, but generally much cheaper.  You can often find the 18 oz Imusa pots at Latina markets or Walmart for around $5-10.  Great little pots for super cheap.

Sam over at Batchstovez makes a great little aluminum pot for $24 and is only 3.7 oz.  It is a 32 oz pot (almost 1000ml), so a little bigger then the TOAKS pot above with a large diameter base which makes your stove more fuel efficient(wider base gives more surface area for the flames to heat your water).  You can also get a smaller 10cm pot to go with your 12 cm pot that will allow you to dry bake.  Both pots together sell for $30.  That is a very cheap way to go!

Stainless Steel

Very heavy and very strong.  I have used the MSR Alpine cookset for over 15 years now.  Still has another 15 years at least!  REI sells two pots and one lid for $50.  1.5L and a 2L pots.  These pots weigh over 26 oz!! Yes, they are bigger pots, but you can carry both the TOAKS pots at half the weight!
